About | Dr Donna Eshuys: PhD, BSc (Hons), B Beh. Sc (Psych), MAPS
Donna is a Doctor of Forensic Psychology who is experienced in clinical and forensic treatments. She is registered with the Psychology Board of Australia and is a Fellow of the APS College of Clinical of Psychologists and an Associate Member of the APS College of Forensic Psychologists.
She has worked in a variety of settings including private and public health services. Donna worked for the QLD Government in Community Mental Health for a number of years. In particular she has specifically worked with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people on the Sunshine Coast. Donna has lived in the region for the past forty years and is the mother of four young adult sons.
In the course of her working life, she has had the opportunity to work with a broad range of people with varying degrees of psychological issues. Donna has case managed those with serious mental illness, assisted individuals to manage their debilitating depression or anxiety concerns, administered IQ testing and written medico-legal reports.
She has also counselled adolescent and adult offenders in the area of anger management and relapse prevention and worked with families in conjunction with child protection services.
Donna also provides evidence-based therapy for a multitude of psychiatric disorders including: panic attacks, phobias, social and performance anxiety, excessive worry, health anxiety, obsessive compulsive behaviours, and trauma reactions. In addition she also provides therapy to help individuals cope with serious mental health issues such as depression, schizophrenia, bi-polar disorder, and addiction.
Donna understands the immense courage it takes for a person to come to grips with and overcome their psychological issues. Her professional and personal goal is to make a positive difference in the lives of all her clients.
